Day 6 – We’re Halfway There

ReservoirBeerWeek

This is it folks, we’ve officially hit the midpoint of Seattle Beer Week. Hopefully you’ve paced yourself well enough that you’ll be able to finish the week strong. Today we have a couple of great events lined up including:

Beer and Burger Battle at Brouwer’s, 2-11PM:

Obviously one of our favorite events every year. In this year’s Beer and Burger Battle, local Champion Big Time Brewery will be defending their title against contenders: Almanac (SF), Schooner Exact (Sodo), Ninkasi (Eugene), and Boneyard ( Bend). Each brewery has been tasked with creating a unique burger based on a 1/3 lbs beef patty. There are some tasty burgers coming your way. Each brewery will be bringing 4 delicious draft options for your imbibing pleasure. Winner is determined by who sells the most burgers and draft beer. It all starts at 2pm—kitchen is open till 11pm.

East Meets West at Naked City 6-9PM:

Tonight is a mini-beer-fest in one evening, featuring SIXTEEN phenomenal breweries fermenting East of the Cascade Mountains and West of Puget Sound. We’ve gathered a showcase of specialty beers you’d need a FlexCar and a summer of weekends to try, all gathered for your pleasure at Naked City. Meet the brewers as they introduce you to their finest beers.

And of course, Naked City’s Kitchen will feature delicious food pairings from Chef Tessa.

Canned Beer Skee Ball Tourney at King’s Hardware 7PM:

This is one of the events we highlighted this year simply because we love skee-ball. However, with participating breweries; 21st Amendment, Two Beers, Fremont, Hilliard’s, 7 Seas and Oscar Blues, you have a pretty darn good reason to go even if you’re not the skee ball type.
$5 cheeseburger and can of craft beer, skeeball tournament, giveaways.

Critical Hit Vertical at Chucks CD 5PM:

“Three little goblins, enjoying their brew. One bumped an ogre, and then there were two.” If board or card games are more your style then you’re in luck. Grab your sword, don your armor, and prepare your most powerful spells, because it’s gaming night at Chuck’s! Ninkasi Brewing will be traveling many miles through treacherous lands to bring a 3-year vertical of their Critical Hit Barleywine, a natural 20 of a brew. Chuck’s will also be forming an alliance with Round the Table in Lynnwood, who will be bringing a whole host of board games to demo. And if card games are more your style, there will be a Magic: the Gathering draft tournament starting at 6 PM. The Cheese Wizards food truck will be encamped outside, offering magical cheesy goodness to ease your hunger. Join in at the tavern for a night of revelry and ales!

Last but not least…12 Pack at the Troll 11PM:

One of our favorites every year. A guerilla style meetup only for the bravest of Beer Week revelers. New Belgium cans at the troll! Come by Bike or on Foot.

With so many great options today, including some we didn’t get to highlight here, you’ll have no trouble finding something to do. Have fun, stay safe, and we’ll see you out there.

Cheers!
