If you’re a regular reader of our site or if you follow our twitter/Facebook/untappd accounts, you know that we are huge fans of Chuck Shin and all he’s done in Chuck’s Hop Shop Greenwood and at his new location in Central District. We spend an almost inordinate amount of time hanging out at both locations (though we tend to favor the original, if only for nostalgia).
Chuck’s Hop Shop, to the uninitiated, appears to simply be a cool place for locals looking for a great beer selection (which it certainly has). But it is much more than that. With their nightly food truck rotations, Full Tilt ice cream bar, kids/dogs/what-have-you welcome, and fun/friendly atmosphere (not to mention a very visible and personable owner), Chuck’s has truly woven itself into the fabric of the community.
This Monday, Chuck’s Hop Shop wants to thank the community (referred to by some as “Chuckleheads”) that has supported them with a customer appreciation BBQ. Here’s the info from their FB page:
Be a part of History! We want to thank everyone that has supported us over the years and helped us grow in the community. To honor the greatness of our awesome customers, we at Chuck’s Hop Shop Greenwood would like to invite you to our first annual Customer Appreciation BBQ next Monday (the 25th). Chuck himself will be serving up his family style Korean BBQ from 4-7pm. Come and meet the man that started it all, the man whose face is on all the shirts…Speaking of t-shirts– anyone wearing a Chuck’s shirt will get $1 off any pint, all day. We’ll also be serving up $1 scoops of ice cream for the kids. Plates of food, including BBQ ribs, rice, kimchee, Jabchae, and potato salad will be $5, with all of the proceeds going to Treehouse (www.treehouseforkids.org), helping foster kids get ready for the upcoming school year. See ya there!
