Beer geeks everywhere know just how good the Firestone Walker Anniversary Ales are. These are big complex beers that are phenomenal right off the bat but even better with age. However, few of us have the willpower to age them for very long. Even fewer have the resolve to cellar year after year of them in an effort to experience a true vertical. Well, thankfully Brouwer’s has handled that for us! This Saturday (8/1, 11AM), they’re hosting a full vertical tasting of Firestone Anniversary Ales 14 through 18. This will be a beer experience unlike any other and one you will not want to miss.
Here’s an idea of what you get from a Firestone Walker Anniversary Ale to whet your appetite:
Firestone 18 – 38% Parabola aged in bourbon barrels, 16% Helldorado aged in bourbon & brandy barrels, 16% Bravo aged in bourbon & brandy barrels, 14% Stickee Monkee aged in bourbon & brandy barrels, 5% Velvet Merkin aged in bourbon barrels, 4% Hydra Cuvee aged in bourbon barrels, 3% Wookey Jack, 2% Ol’ Leghorn aged in new American oak, 2% Double Jack

We’ve been known to let beers age for years in our cellar, but at a certain point they need to be consumed! That said, we think August 1st is the perfect time to pull some Firestone Walker Anniversary beers, specifically Firestone 14 through 18, which are known for the rich, deep flavors. Doors open at 11am, and $35 gets you a 5oz taste of all 5 Anniversary beers, plus a 12oz pour of Firestone Pivo at the beginning of the event.
