Movember with The Pine Box and Deschutes Brewery

IMG_20151103_120558This “Movember,” The Pine Box and Deschutes Brewery have teamed up to help raise awareness and much needed money for prostate and testicular cancer research. Here’s a little recap of the Movember Kick Off Party at The Pine Box last night and a look at what’s to come this month.

Kick Off Party Recap:

Movember got rolling with last night’s Kick Off Party. Deschutes was on hand to get the party started with some of their awesome beers. On tap were: Cinder Cone Red (on nitro), Jubelale, Pinedrops IPA, and The Stoic. That was just the tip of the iceberg. Every pint of Deschutes purchased earned you a raffle ticket for some great prizes; we took home a pretty cool Deschutes pint glass koozie. Mustaches were shaved to begin the month of growth and, for those brave enough, they also broke out the “wheel of mustaches” to leave the shape up to chance. Polaroids were taken and posted for those wishing to have their growth tracked. The night culminated in a showing of “Super Troopers” a movie featuring some pretty fantastic mustaches. To top it all off, $1 from every pint of Deschutes sold went to supporting prostate and testicular cancer research.

So here is what the month ahead looks like:

Deschutes and The Pine Box will be tracking all of those beards and mustaches they shaved last night. Polaroids will be taken every Monday of the initial participants for a time-lapse photo montage. Deschutes will also be on hand every Monday (6-9PM) throughout November for more raffles, prizes, and overall good times. At 7PM every Monday they will also feature another movie replete with great mustache power. And the best part is $1 of every Deschutes pint sold ALL MONTH LONG!!! goes to support prostate and testicular cancer research. So even if you can’t make it on a Monday night (or you can’t grow a mustache), you can still do your part to help with this important fight!

Here’s the movie lineup:
11/9: Tombstone
11/16: Anchorman
11/23: The Big Lebowski
11/30: Smokey and the Bandit
