After years of clamoring for a second release, the near-mythological The Rusty Nail is making a reappearance. Next Saturday, July 9th, Fremont Brewing is re-releasing one of the finest beers ever produced in Washington. The batch is quite small by Fremont’s standards, so get there early if you want to be certain to walk away with one of these delicious treats.
From Fremont Brewing:
We’re releasing The Rusty Nail on Saturday, July 9th at 11am in our Urban Beer Garden! $20 per bottle / 2 bottle limit. Both Rusty Nail and First Nail will be on tap, and a limited amount of 2015 First Nail bottles will also be for sale.
About The Rusty Nail:
The Rusty Nail begins life as The First Nail, an oatmeal stout of epic proportions with brewer’s licorice, smoked barley, and pale malt and is then aged on cinnamon bark. She becomes the Rusty Nail after spending 15 months in 12-year old bourbon barrels. The Rusty Nail pounds your palate, challenges your perception of all that you’ve known of beer, and leaves you wanting … another sip. “A fine beer may be judged by one sip, but it’s better to be thoroughly sure.” – VWP.
Age this beer, please! But try one now … go on.
Down & Dirty: Pale, Vienna, and Smoked malts, Midnight Wheat with Flaked Oats and Magnum and Yakima Goldings hops.
ABV: 13.2% IBU: 50
